AIFF Converter Buying Guide: Expert Recommendations
Your Most Essential Guide Towards Picking Best Aiff Converter
An easy yet powerful editor
Numerous effects to choose from
Detailed tutorials provided by the official channel
“I need to convert some general audio files to AIFF, do you have any recommendations?”
We do, in fact, have some recommendations for you! The AIFF file format, while generally obscure, is accepted by most general audio converters! So, we didn’t have any problem finding some that you can use to AIFF converter!
In this article
01 [What’s So Good About AIFF?](#Part 1)
02 [How to Convert M4A to AIFF Free and Easily](#Part 2)
03 [What Makes AIFF Converter the Best Free Online Tool for Mac Users?](#Part 3)
Part 1 What’s So Good About AIFF?
But okay, what’s the deal with AIFF? Is it really all that good? And, if it is, why? For the first part of this article, we’ve prepared a short overview on the AIFF file format You can skip ahead though if you’d prefer to see the tutorial on AIFF Converters or our list of recommendations.
01What’s AIFF?
AIFF, also called the Audio Interchange File Format, is an audio file format that was popularized in 1988. It was based on the Electronic Arts Interchange File Format and is probably most familiar for Mac users. It’s accepted by most media players, including Apple Music and the Apple QuickTime Player.
02Why Is It So Popular?
Why? Well, it all has to do with the loss of quality. AIFF files are notable because they are uncompressed — leading to an inarguably better sound. That makes it popular with content creators, who want to provide the best possible listening experience to their audience. The caveat to this, of course, is that its uncompressed state means that it takes up a lot more space on one’s disk drive. But, many people would be willing to give that up in exchange for the enhanced sound.
Part 2 How to Convert M4A to AIFF Free and Easily
For this next section, we’ll be teaching you how to convert M4A to AIFF with an online AIFF converter. The benefit of using an online converter like the one we’ll be showing you how to use is that it is usually FREE and very efficient. This makes it a perfect solution for those who are just looking to convert to or from AIFF occasionally and thus has no need for a more permanent solution.
01Step 1: Launch Online AIFF Converter & Upload Files
The first thing that you have to do is open up the online AIFF Converter that you want to use. For our example, we’ve chosen FreeConvert, but there are plenty of other ones out there for you to choose from
Once you’re on-site, make use of the upload options to prepare your file to be converted. In this case, we uploaded an MP3 file, but it will work for M4A to AIFF just as well (along with other file formats.)
02Step 2: Convert to ‘AIFF’
Once the file that you want to convert has finished uploading, confirm that the output file format has been set to “AIFF”.
03Step 3: Play with Advanced Settings
This is optional, but if you want, you can adjust certain audio parameters by taking advantage of the ‘Advanced Settings’ option
04Step 4: Convert M4A to AIFF
Now it’s time to finally convert In this case, that is as easy as selecting the ‘Convert to AIFF’ button.
05Step 5: Download AIFF
When the conversion has been completed, click the ‘Download AIFF’ to finish up and save the converted AIFF file to your computer.
Part 3 What Makes AIFF Converter the Best Free Online Tool for Mac Users?
For this next part, we’ll be demonstrating an AIFF Converter that can be downloaded and used by Mac users. And then we’ll be following it up with a long list of all the best AIFF Converters available online and for both Windows and Mac users
01How to Use Free Audio AIFF Converter on Win/Mac?
As promised, this first part is a demonstration on how you can convert M4A to AIFF with a converter that will work for both Windows and Mac. This free audio converter is called ‘MediaHuman Audio Converter.’ It’s a really simple converter and is a great option for those who see themselves requiring an audio converter often but still don’t feel it necessary to cough up extra money for premium software when they can get a free one
**Step 1: Add File(s) for Conversion
First things first, upload the file that you want to convert With MediaHuman, you can do this in one of three ways:
● Drop media onto the specified area
● Click the “+” file option in order to manually add file
● Click the “+ folder” option in order to manually add files
**Step 2: Select Format
Once your file has been uploaded, select the “Format” button in the middle of the toolbar This will cause a pop-up to appear where you can choose your desired output format Of course, in our case, we chose “AIFF”
**Step 3: Start Conversion
Next, click ‘Start Conversion’ This will initiate the conversion. After which, you’ll be able to save your converted AIFF file and store it for use.
0210 Best AIFF Converter for Lossless Conversion
Now for our list of the best AIFF Converters available right now We’ve made sure to pick a good variety of them that you can choose from. Some of which are online tools, like we introduced in Part 1, while the others will be downloaded software that you can have at the ready at all times, like what we introduced in Part 2, Section 1
Keywords: aiff converter, m4a to aiff, convert m4a to aiff
**1. Zamzar
For the first AIFF Converter on this list, we have ZAMZAR ZAMZAR is an online file conversion tool that is capable of converting in a variety of file formats. Of course, the one that we’ll be looking at today is Zamzar’s AIFF Converter — which is almost 100% FREE to use (there’s a max upload file size that can only be unlocked if you pay the premium fee).
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● FREEmium Online AIFF Converter● Wide variety of input and output file formats to choose from● No loss of quality and efficient conversion speed | ● Not 100% FREE, must pay to unlock certain functions● There is a max upload size for the FREE version (50MB)● Internet is required in order for use |
**2. ConvertOnMac
Our next recommended tool is Convert on Mac This is another online tool that can be used to convert a variety of files (i.e., audio, video, image, document, etc). The one that we’ll be focusing on though is Convert on Mac’s AIFF Converter
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports a variety of file input and output formats● Special AIFF Converter available for easy conversion● File upload can be done both manually or through a URL | ● Available online only● Most compatible for Mac users (as is evident from the name)● Not the best for bulk conversions |
**3. Online Converter
The next one up is Online Converter This one is more like ZAMZAR than Convert on Mac. If only because it also comes with a max file size that is locked. It’s more limited though — in that it doesn’t support as many input and output formats. And, as you can no doubt guess from the interface, quite old-school as well.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Specialized AIFF Converter● Functions as a converter for other file types as well● Large max file size | ● Available online only● Max upload file size is 200MB● Slower, less efficient conversion speed |
**4. Wondershare Filmora Video Editor
For this next AIFF Converter, we make a complete departure from your general converters by introducing a completely different beast altogether Specifically, in the form of a Video Editor called Filmora. Filmora is an incredibly advanced video editing tool. And, because of this, it’s capable of most things related to video and audio editing. Including, in this case, AIFF conversion
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Advanced video and audio functions for adjusting audio output parameters● Supports dozens of audio and video file formats● Produces high-quality end product | ● FREEmium product, certain functions are locked in the FREE version● Download and installation is required● Not the most beginner-friendly |
**5. EaseUS Video Converter
With ‘EaseUS Video Converter’ we continue on our trend of AIFF conversion software This one, despite its name suggesting otherwise, functions as a solid Audio Converter So far, it’s closest to Filmora Pro when compared to all the others on this list. It’s a one-trick kind of pony though. Seeing as, unlike with Filmora, you can really only use this to convert files.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● High-quality video and audio conversion● Supports dozens of input and output formats● FREE trial available | ● Limited FREE Trial● Supports Windows OS only● Download and installation is required for use |
**6. Wondershare UniConverter
This next software, the ‘Wondershare UniConverter’ is a bit of a mix between Filmora and EaseUS Video Converter. As is evident from the UI (shown-off in the screenshot provided), it has the makings of a straightforward converter but with extra tools (i.e., video editor, video compressor, merger, screen recorder, etc.) that you can take advantage of while working on your conversions.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Extra features for editing input and output files● Supports up to 1000 formats● High-speed Conversion rates | ● FREEmium program● Certain functions are locked in the FREE version of the program● Download and installation is required for use |
**7. VSDC Free Audio Converter
Next up, we have VSDC VSDC is a FREE Audio Converter. It’s pretty old-school (as is perhaps evident from the UI example) but it supports a variety of audio formats, including AIFF, which earned it a spot on this list of ours
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports all the key formats for both input and output● Built-in editor for trimming audio● High-conversion quality | ● Open-source, and thus not update as often● The conversion speed is slow● Old-school interface |
**8. Switch Audio File Converter
Switch Audio File Converter is a Mac AIFF Converter. You can find it on the Mac APP Store, or purchase it directly on the NCH Software website. For the FREE app version, you have access to certain functions, with the rest being locked under in-app purchases.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports over 40+ audio file formats● Batch conversion functionalities available● Convert from video to audio easily | ● Convert from video to audio easily● Faulty AIFF to OGG conversion● Comes with lots of bugs |
**9. iTunes - Apple
This is a hidden feature that not many people know about, but iTunes actually works as a pretty serviceable AIFF Converter. It’s not the most efficient, but with iTunes’ AIFF Encoder, conversion to AIFF is possible (converting from AIFF to MP3, and WAV is also possible because iTunes provides Encoders for those as well).
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● FREE software, pre-installed on Mac computers● Quality settings to ensure good sound quality● AIFF-specific converter | ● No bulk-conversions available● Inefficient AIFF conversion● It will need to be downloaded and installed manually for Windows |
**10. Convertio
Last, but not least, is Convertio We circle back with this fourth and last online converter It’s actually quite advanced. Although, just like many of the other FREEmium online converters we’ve listed, it’s not 100% FREE and comes with a lot of limitations.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports all the general audio files● Various ways to upload● High-quality conversions | ● FREEmium online converter● 100MB upload limit for the FREE version● Slow conversion |
Key Takeaways from This Episode
● The AIFF file format is notable because it results in higher-quality sound. This is because AIFF, unlike the more general, MP3 file format, is not a compressed format.
● There are various ways that you can convert from and to the AIFF file format. The first method that we introduced was an online tool that would be available for use no matter what computer or device you’re using The second was chosen specifically because it was FREE and available for both Windows and Mac
● If you’re interested in looking through other options, the ten other converters we introduced should provide a healthy lot for you to choose from — with various levels of usefulness depending on what you need an AIFF Converter.
“I need to convert some general audio files to AIFF, do you have any recommendations?”
We do, in fact, have some recommendations for you! The AIFF file format, while generally obscure, is accepted by most general audio converters! So, we didn’t have any problem finding some that you can use to AIFF converter!

03 [Ways To Publish Videos On Linkedin](#Part 3)
04 [Importance Of Thumbnails In Linkedin Video](#Part 4)
05 [Tips To Create An Interesting And Effective Linkedin Video Thumbnail](#Part 5)
Part 1 What is a LinkedIn video thumbnail and its size specifications?
A thumbnail for a video is like a preview image of the video and acts like its cover. The viewer will get an idea about what the video contains through its thumbnail image. Though the site chooses the first frame of the video as the thumbnail, you can even set a customized one that is attractive and interesting.
The LinkedIn video thumbnail size specifications are as follows:
● Image size: 1200 X 627 pixels
● Format of the image: JPG or PNG
● Maximum size of the image: 2MB
● Aspect Ratio: The aspect ratio of the thumbnail should match that of the video itself.
Part 2 Publishing videos on LinkedIn
If you are planning to publish a video on LinkedIn, the first thing to know is the place where it will be published. LinkedIn allows adding the videos on the personal feed as well as on the Company pages.
If you are into an established business or a brand having a large number of followers, paid video posts on the company page work best.
For the small- setups and businesses who are looking to promote their products and brands posting a video on the personal feed is a good idea. Initially, you can start by posting on your feed and then can later create a company page.
Part 3 Ways To Publish Videos On Linkedin
After you have decided that whether you will be posting a video on your company page or your personal feed, the next thing is to decide that how the video will be published. There are 3 different ways for posting a video as enlisted below.
● Using YouTube and Vimeo links
If you have your videos on Vimeo or YouTube you can paste their link on your LinkedIn account. To watch the video, a person needs to click on the link and it will then open in the hosting platform.
● Using LinkedIn Native Video
This is the most effective method where a video can be uploaded directly on your LinkedIn account from your system as well as your phone. While posting videos directly on LinkedIn, you can even add customized thumbnails, stickers, subtitles, and titles. A native video will play automatically as it is seen by the people in their feed and thus, they reach a larger number of people.
● Using LinkedIn video ads
To reach the target audience, a sponsored post is also an effective way and the video ads can be posted only through a company page. Depending on the type of product or the brand to be promoted, the video can be created.
Part 4 Importance Of Thumbnails In Linkedin Video
The LinkedIn video thumbnail is one of the important factors that make your video engaging and interesting. Before a person starts watching your video, you need to ensure that they get interested in it and click it. For grabbing this first-time attention, a custom thumbnail works great. You can use any interesting graphic or an image related to your video and edit it to create a customized thumbnail.
A thumbnail can only be used when videos are posted as native LinkedIn videos.
Part 5 Tips To Create An Interesting And Effective Linkedin Video Thumbnail
The following tips will help you create interesting thumbnails for your LinkedIn videos that will grab the viewers’ attention.
● Search for thumbnail templates
There are several sites like Canva, Visme, Postermywall, and others where you can get ready-made templates for creating impressive thumbnails. A variety of designs in different categories are available at these sites to choose from.
● Edit files using an editing tool
To edit the selected template or a fresh image to be used as a thumbnail, you would need a good editing tool. We recommend Wondershare Filmora Video Editor here as excellent software that can edit your files in multiple ways. The software can be downloaded on your Windows and Mac systems in a hassle-free manner and then multiple editing tools can be used to get the desired thumbnail image. Some of the key features supported by the software include enhancing files with effects, rotating, merging, cropping, flipping, adding text & tiles, adding overlays and filters, transitions and elements, motion tracking, color tuning, and much more.

● Keep it simple and uncluttered
The thumbnail should be kept simple and without any clutter. Since LinkedIn is a professional platform there is no need for any unnecessary details needed.

Setting Up Your Dream Machine for Premiere Pro Video Editing
System Requirements for Running Premiere Pro: How to Set Up Computer
Benjamin Arango
Mar 27, 2024• Proven solutions
We all know that Adobe Premiere Pro is one of the best professional video editing software, while to run such a powerful video editing software, you may need a powerful windows PC or Mac as well. Though most modern computer systems can run Adobe Premiere out of the box, there are some steps to take, and potential decisions to make, before installing the software, or if you are building or buying a new computer to make sure you get the best experience possible with the software.

Minimum system requirement to run Premiere Pro on Windows and Mac in 2019
Your computer should at least to meet the minimum specification below to run Premiere Pro, and if you need to edit some VR videos, your computer configuration should be higher according to the minimum specifications list on their website .
- Intel 6th or newer CPU
- Windows 10 (64-bit) 1703 or later/ MacOS V10.12 later
- 16GB RAM; 4GB GPU VRAM
- Fast internal SSD
- 1920*1080 Display resolution
- 32-bit video card
- Internet connection
However, it is important to remember this is the minimum specification, and will not necessarily give a satisfactory user experience. The recommended specifications are far more likely to provide the kind of performance expected of the software and those would be the ones to use as a guide for the minimum spec for a new computer or any upgrades being planned prior to installation.
How to check Computer Specifications
Since Premiere Pro CC only works on Windows 10 system after 2018 13.0 release, we will show you how to check if your PC meets the requirements to run Premiere Pro on Windows 10
- Press Windows Key+ E on the keyboard to bring up Windows Explorer.
- Right click the This PC option in the sidebar and then select Properties from the context menu.
- The system specification window will show up which you see the Processor, RAM, system type and other system information.
Checking the specification on your Mac is easy, just click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your Mac, and then select About This Mac option. In the pop-up window you will see the information including Processor speed, memory and graphic card etc.
How to Set Up Computer for Premiere
1. Processor
Whilst the software will run on a Core2Duo intel or Phenom II AMD processor, it is worth noting that rendering can be highly intensive work for the processor and the fastest possible processor within your budget will pay dividends in speed of editing. In general, even a Core I3, the cheapest of the current Intel range, will be significantly faster than older processors, but because Premiere happily uses multi cored processors to their full, if the budget can reach to a quad core or more processor then do so, Premiere is a piece of software that benefits from the computational power increase more than most.
2. Memory
The next consideration is memory. The minimum specification suggests 4GB of RAM with 8GB recommended, for reliable and smooth running consider 8GB minimum, and go for as much as you can. For a computer that is used for other activities as well, multitasking can see even 24GB of Ram being fully utilized, especially if you are working on HD content. Speaking of content, this is the other aspect of memory to look at. Whilst you can use a storage drive that contains everything else on your computer to keep the media you are working on, for HD content especially, and for trouble free and the fastest possible operation it is advisable to reserve a single drive, preferably a 7200 RPM or faster one, exclusively for your media. Bandwidth and access times means Premiere will be significantly faster in operation with its media on a dedicated drive.
3. Graphic
The final aspect of specification to consider is graphics. Adobe Premiere uses a feature called the Mercury Playback Engine that allows much faster and smoother playback of video without rendering, it has two modes, software only and GPU acceleration mode (Using either CUDA or OpenCL). The GPU acceleration mode offers significant performance increases and is therefore highly desirable. However, not all GPU’s are compatible with the Mercury Playback Engine, the list of those that are is found on the previously linked specification page, so if a new computer is being built or purchased, or upgrades are being considered prior to install, it is highly desirable to utilize a compatible GPU where possible.
5. Settings
Having covered the basic specifications of a computer that will enhance the operation of Premiere, it is now time to look at the computer settings and how this can affect Premiere’s performance and usability.
The first thing to understand is that video editing, especially HD video, is bandwidth intensive, in effect, it fills up the lanes between the CPU, RAM, GPU and Hard Drive during operation. Spreading the use of that bandwidth over several devices can see huge performance gains, so one of the best ways to optimize the computer for Premier is to adjust how the hard drives are used. How effective this can be depends on the computer you are using, so we will try to cover a few different possibilities here.
6. Drive
If your computer contains a single drive, simply install Premiere and start using it, there are no options available here. If there are two drives, keep one for the operating system, programs and cache files. Use the second drive exclusively for video project files, exported projects and previews.
If the computer has three drives then keep one for the operating system and programs, the second one for the video project files, and use the third for previews, cache files and exported projects.
If you have access to even more drives, then split the cache from the previews, and ultimately have one drive each for previews, exports and cache. Spreading the files across as many drives as possible enhances performance by enabling the different read/write operations to occur without interference from each other.
That is the theory, but how do you achieve this? This is done within Premiere itself, there are two parts, accessing where the media cache files are placed is done though the edit menu, following the path edit > preferences > media.
Changing where the project files, previews and exports are stored is just as easy, and is accessed via the project menu by taking the path project > project settings > scratchdisks.
7. Sequence Setting
When working with Premiere it is important to have the correct settings for the type of media you are using and the nature of the final output. This is done within Premiere by a function known as a Sequence.
After creating a new project you are presented with the sequence dialogue box. You can have as many sequences in a single project as you like, but Premiere always assumes you require at least one and so needs the first one to be created to allow work on a project. Any media, both audio and video, placed into a sequence is automatically adapted to the settings of that sequence, so you will want to choose settings that match the original media as closely as possible. Each sequence in a project can have different settings if required, as this lessens the workload on the CPU and makes the process faster and smoother.
The sequence dialogue has three tabs, Sequence Presets, Settings and Tracks
The Preset Tab makes setting up a new sequence much simpler. Choosing a preset enables Premiere to choose the settings that best match the chosen video and audio format. There are a wide range of presets available to suit the most commonly used media types, they are organized based on camera formats. Within each group there are numerous settings and configurations to choose from based around frame sizes and interlacing. Whilst choosing the correct preset can be a little daunting to the uninitiated, ensuring the number of frames per second, the frame size and codec are correct is all that is required.
Once the preset is chosen you can move to the settings tab to adjust the preset manually. Some settings will not be adjustable in this tab due to the specific optimization required for the input media.
Because the presets do such a good job it is not really necessary to adjust anything in the settings tab, and unless you are trying to do something very specific.
While the standard presets are usually suitable, on occasion you may desire a custom setting. To do this, choose a sequence preset that is close to your media, and then make custom selections in the Settings tab. By selecting the Save Preset option on the Settings tab you can then create a custom setting with those parameters. Give the preset a suitable name in the Save Settings dialog and add any notes that are needed. The preset can be found in the Custom folder under Available Presets.
Those with the Apple Prores Codec on their computers can use this as the preview codec if required. By choosing Quicktime as the preview format in a custom editing mode, and lastly Apple Prores as the required codec.
Conclusion
If your computer failed to meet the requirement to run Premiere Pro, you may need to spend some money to buy a powerful computer or choose another professional video editing software similar to Premiere Pro, or choose a video editing software. If your computer isn’t powerful enough to run Premiere Pro, you will get awful experience at editing footage because of the long loading time and stuck playback.
